Today marks the end of one of the most significant periods in my life so far, that being the 6 years I have spent at Telecom. Over the last 6 years I have made alot of friends, developed a hell of a lot as a person, and made some huge gains in my working career.
Leaving brings on a whole bunch of new challenges, and changes. I won’t miss the stress or the bureaucracy, or the constant crap of being a monopoly, but I will miss working with a bunch of really good people. Yea there’s a bunch of wankers there too (alot of them), but I had mostly good times along the way. In terms of career development, it more than served its purpose.
I’ll probably be on gardening leave for the next few weeks, before I head off into the Big Blue yonder…
So the next few months will be full of change, which is good.
On the family side of life both the boys are rocking along. Danny’s sleeping through the night finally, after I spent 2 weeks of midnight hell retraining his sleeping habits. Its easy to look back with hindsight, but we were being way too soft on our little allergy infested ratbag.
Reed is nearly four, and we need to register him for school, which I can’t work out whether I’m happy or sad about. My little buddy is growing up so fast. He’s now earned his XBOX 360 wings, playing with gusto. Can’t believe some of the moves he can pull off already, won’t be long before he’s owning his Dad!
So life rolls on – as I close one chapter and new one opens. Who knows what it will bring, but hey – it can’t be so bad, life has been pretty good to me so far… 🙂
